Did you know that if you are still serving, and you are on AFPS15, benefits are accrued at the rate of 1/47th of the pensionable earnings
Previous years’ accruals are then increased each year in line with the Average Weekly Earnings Index (AWE) as declared for the year from September to September.
Once you leave service your benefits are no longer increased in line with the AWE index, rather they are increased in line with changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
